- What is meant by "skilled nursing care"?
- Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants provide nursing care to residents at this Medicare-licensed residence.
- Do residents receive care from an individual physician?
- Yes. At the time of admission the resident/responsible party selects a physician, who provides for the resident's care and will bill separately for this service.
- Are dental services available?
- Yes. The Preston Residence assists residents in obtaining routine and 24-hour emergency dental care.
- How are medications managed?
- The resident's physician prescribes medications which are administered by the nursing staff. Generic drugs are dispensed unless the physician's orders indicate otherwise. Neighbor Care Pharmacy provides direct billing and accepts most prescription drug plans.
- Must individuals be current residents of Jenner's Pond to become residents of The Preston Residence?
- No. We welcome people who are not residents of Jenner's Pond for Skilled Nursing care and Rehabilitation at The Preston Residence.
- Who may visit residents, and when?
- There are no restrictions on visiting hours or age. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash, and current on vaccinations.
- What sort of recreation and activities do residents enjoy?
- Our Activity Coordinator plans and schedules discussion groups, games, entertainment, exercise, religious services and outings for residents. Individual visits are initiated for those unable to participate in group activities.
- May residents bring personal possessions or furnishings to The Preston Residence?
- Yes. In fact, although suites are fully furnished, residents are encouraged to personalize their suites with items from home such as a favorite chair, photographs, books, artwork, televisions and radios. The Admissions Coordinator will be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
- How is personal laundry managed?
- Personal laundry may be done by the family or a responsible party, or service can be provided by The Preston Residence for a nominal monthly fee. All clothing must be clearly marked with the resident's name, and each resident must provide a personal hamper. Frequency of personal laundry pickup depends upon the needs of the individual.
- Are services such as hair care, banking, post office and gift shop available?
- Yes. All of these conveniences and more are located on the Jenner's Pond campus.
- May residents receive their favorite daily newspapers?
- Absolutely. Direct delivery of periodicals may be arranged by the resident, family or responsible party.
- Is cable television available?
- Yes. A nominal monthly fee is charged for this service.
- May residents have individual telephone service?
- Yes. A nominal monthly fee is charged for this service.

- How quickly does The Preston Residence act upon requests for admission?
- Our admissions team prides itself on immediate response to every request received from referring professionals, families or other responsible parties about needs and resources.
- Do residents receive care from an individual physician?

- Are dental services available?

- Is transportation provided for scheduled off-campus appointments?
- Yes. The staff of The Preston Residence will arrange fee-for-service transportation for residents as needed for scheduled appointments, or a family member or responsible party may elect to provide transportation.
- What insurance and Medicare programs are supported/recognized by The Preston Residence?
- All major insurance plans, including HMOs and PPOs, are accepted at The Preston Residence. In addition, The Preston Residence is Medicare-certified for Plans A, B and D.
- Is The Preston Residence a Medicaid community?
- No, it is not. While we generally refer individuals whose financial circumstances require Medicaid assistance to other communities, we can also work with families and physicians to provide superior care for those for whom Medicaid assistance is not immediately required. This is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
